The Adilabad District Consumer Rights Protection Society is functioning successfully since its inception in the year 1995.
The members of this society are self supportive and socially conscious persons. It is run by the funds raised by its members and office bearers. The society has well-to-do members who can contribute funds for the construction of building etc., and they are well educated. That the society conducted medical camps to treat chronic diseases of economically and socially downtrodden people.
The society also provided tricycles to physically handicapped people from the funds raised from among the members of the society.
The society is also conducting awareness campaigns about various Government programmes aimed at social development.
It has distributed one lakh pamphlets in rural and Tribal areas and colleges regarding awareness of RTI Act 2005. And about Consumer Rights. These pamphlets were Launched by the District Collector, Adilabad Sri Ahmed Nadeem, I.A.S.
The Society has created an awareness of Government programs to the people regarding their “RIGHT TO VOTE” AND “RACHHA BANDA”by advertising in daily news papers with their society’s fund.
AWARDS TO THE SOCIETY
1. The Hon’ble Minister for Civil Supplyes and Revenue of Telangana State Awarded the President of the society for best services rendered by the society
2)The State Chairman, A.P. Consumers Forum presented a memento in the presence of Joint Collector and District Consumer Chairman, Adilabad in appreciation of the services done to people by the society.
3) The then MLA of Adilabad, Sri C. Ramachandra Reddy also presented a memento to the society for its services for the cause of poor and illiterate people.
4) The Hon’ble District Judge, Adilabad presented a memento to the president of Society in appreciation of the services done to people by the society.
5) The Hon’ble Additional District Judge, Adilabad presented a memento to the president of Society in appreciation of the services done to people by the society on the occasion of “WORLD CONSUMERS DAY”.
6)Collector (CS) has Issued Certificate of Appreciation In the Category of CONSUMER VOLUNTARY ORGANISATION for rendering good service in CONSUMER AWARENESS on the occasion of world consumer rights day-2010 Celebrations by hands of DRO & Joint Collector (IC) Adilabad on 22 March 2010 and also given Cash Award That day
7)The internationally prestigious “Public Cause Research Foundation, that is headed by Sri Aravind Kejriwal (CM Delhi ) Ghaziabad, U.P. has presented a Letter of Appreciation to the society for its exemplary work in the filed of RTI ACT-2005 ”.
8) The District Collector, Adilabad appointed DVR Anjaneyulu as “ DIST FOOD ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEMBER’’ for 2011
9) The Commissioner Civil Supplies, Telangana State appointed DVR Anjaneyulu as “ MEMBER OF CONSUMER PROTOCTION COUNCIL, ADILABAD ’’ for 2016-17
